The Boxx @ Awakenings Festival

Challenge

Awakenings Festival used to take place in June and was moved in 2022 to April for its 25th anniversary. With 80.000 fans visiting the weekend, Awakenings Easter Festival was the highlight of Europe’s techno music calendar. After an amazing 2022 edition, Awakenings returned to Spaarnwoude Park in May 2023 for the two-day festival Awakenings Spring. Veldeman’s challenge for this festival: safely accommodate the visitors during two days in stunning and comfortable festival tents.

Solution

With The Boxx, we provided an impressive eye-catcher. After a succesful first installation at Awakenings Easter Festival, we scaled up The Boxx to an even larger structure for Awakenings Spring Festival, measuring 50m by 55m. The insulated wall panels, aluminum on the outside and anthracite on the inside, perfectly matched the look and feel of the festival. Thanks to an interior height of over 13m and high roof loads, the technical producers were more than happy with The Boxx to give free rein to their creativity with lighting and special effects.

In addition to The Boxx, we also installed 2 TFS tent structures. After more than 20 years of presence at Awakenings, these structures have become an iconic trademark for the festival.
