From the largest festival tent in Europe to temporary structures in the Andes: no challenge is too big for us. But who is behind these success stories? This year, our summer barbecue took place under truly tropical conditions, with temperatures soaring well above 35°C.
But that certainly didn’t stop our Veldemen and Veldema’ams from turning it into a party!
After a welcome drink, a few words from our CEO and the celebration of our long-service anniversaries, our colleagues enjoyed a delicious barbecue followed by a refreshing ice cream.
Of course, the heat called for some extra cooling. During their break, several colleagues built mini paddling pools – and were more than happy to use them. Colleagues on the terrace were also enjoying the water fun.
Inside, the ‘sports enthusiasts’ had a great time at the pool table whilst watching the World Cup match. Later in the evening, the karaoke got into full swing, and the party really came to life.
All in all, it was another highly successful edition of our summer barbecue! 👏
On June 3, our Veldeman Biking Day was on the agenda.
Unfortunately, the weather gods weren’t exactly on our side on this World Bicycle Day. Nevertheless, many colleagues braved the rain and made sure the day didn’t get washed out.
20 Veldemen and -women refused to be discouraged by the bad weather and cycled to work. They certainly challenged their limits!
Together, they covered a total of 177 kilometres: an impressive achievement given the challenging weather conditions. 👏
After a warm welcome with a sports drink and a healthy snack, they were treated to a delicious pasta buffet at lunchtime.
It may not have been a record-breaking edition in terms of participation, but it certainly was one for rain and perseverance. Thank you to all our colleagues!
On to the next sporting challenge – hopefully under drier conditions. 🔥
At Veldeman, we have many beautiful projects worth showcasing …
… but even more important, of course, are our Veldemen and Veldema’ams!
That’s why, on June 1, we organized a professional photoshoot with our colleagues. Everyone put their best foot forward, and the results are definitely worth seeing.

Three of our colleagues are heading into a well-deserved retirement, and of course we couldn’t let that pass by unnoticed!
Together with their closest colleagues, they were celebrated and received meaningful keepsakes that reflect their careers at Veldeman.
For 40 years, each of them gave their very best to the company and their colleagues, and were always dedicated to helping build (literally and figuratively) Veldeman’s wonderful projects.
We wish them a fantastic retirement! ❤️
No fewer than 32 colleagues kept moving on Thursday 2 April.
As part of the Flemish campaign ‘Kom van dat gat af’ (which means “Get off your seat” 😉) our Veldeman team took on the challenge to sit less and move more.
And they really went for it:
👣 Our walking group counted 18 participants, enjoying a 30-minute walk through the beautiful green surroundings around our company.
🎯 Meanwhile, 14 colleagues who preferred to stay indoors also stayed active with a game of darts or pool.
It just goes to show: staying active isn’t just healthy, it’s also a lot of fun when you do it together as a team!
We too are keen to jump on the trend and take a look back at 10 years ago.
One initiative that was launched in 2016 and is still alive today is Energy@Veldeman.
This health and exercise campaign was set up in collaboration with Energy Lab to encourage the entire Veldeman team to move more and choose a healthy lifestyle.
And we’re still carrying that healthy trend forward in 2026:
▪️ Fresh fruit available every two weeks
▪️ Energy bars for our top crew on the construction sites
▪️ Cold winter months = warm soup Tuesday afternoons
▪️ Our walking club is present every lunchtime (except in very bad weather 😉)
Perfect for our colleagues to recharge their batteries during the workday!
To wrap up 2025, we enjoyed a wonderful Christmas drinks party together on 19 December!
We didn’t just choose any location, but a particularly warm and cosy setting at one of our own rental projects: BE-MINE on ICE in Beringen.
After work, our colleagues got together to enjoy a hamburger buffet and a drink, accompanied by music provided by a DJ.
It was a successful evening full of atmosphere and conviviality, which got us off to a good start for the Christmas holidays and festive season.
A warm memory that we will take with us into 2026!
On 16 December, our colleagues at Veldeman went completely ‘Christmas wrong’.
During the last business days of 2025, we organised an ugly Christmas sweater day – complete with an award ceremony. Our colleagues put on their most creative and ugly Christmas outfits, creating a wonderful sense of togetherness.
From original Christmas sweaters to full festive outfits – right down to the ugly socks – the vibe was spot on. Our colleagues working on site also joined in, bringing the Christmas spirit all the way to the construction site.
Moments like these show what Veldeman stands for: team spirit, connection, and enjoying work together!
On June 3rd, we held our annual ‘Veldeman Biking Day’ and challenged our colleagues to cycle to work in a sporty way. This year, we were thrilled to welcome no fewer than 32 enthusiastic participants, who collectively cycled over 300 km one way; totaling more than 600 km for the round trips! 💪
The morning kicked off with an energetic welcome and ended with a healthy lunch as a reward for their achievement. This sporty activity fits perfectly within our Energy@Veldeman initiative, through which we promote physical activity and health in the workplace.

This warm and inviting space is designed for colleagues to meet, collaborate, and relax. It radiates calm and comfort, with plenty of greenery, welcoming touches, areas for relaxation, and a focus on ergonomic design.
🎉 We celebrated the opening of Veldeman Central with a delicious lunch – the perfect moment to enjoy this new space that’s all about bringing people together.
On Monday, September 30th, the Annual Meeting of VKW Limburg took place at the Cultural Center in Hasselt. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Ambiorix Award 2024 to Veldeman Group.
In front of an audience of around 1,000 guests, our company was put in the spotlight, with an impressive video presentation and a powerful speech by our CEO, Andy Moors, who received the award.
Together with a few colleagues, we celebrated this fantastic success, a well-deserved recognition of the hard work of Team Veldeman!
A unique experience for Team Veldeman! Our employees had the opportunity to join an exclusive Backstage Tour at Rock Werchter. Forty colleagues boarded the bus to get a sneak peek behind the scenes of the festival. The absolute highlight? Admiring our newest structures, The Boxx® and the Epixx® (also known as Klub C and The Barn), in all their glory! After the tour, we enjoyed a delicious meal. The perfect end to a fantastic afternoon!
Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming our Chilean colleagues, Isabel Avaria and Guillermo Rifo, to our Belgian headquarters in Bree. Isabel, who recently joined our team, and Guillermo are driving the growth of our business in Latin America, particularly within the mining sector. Their visit was filled with valuable activities, including a (further) introduction to our company and production site, multiple project visits and numerous meetings with their Belgian colleagues. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with our Belgian team and to strengthen these important relationships.
The cyclists were welcomed upon arrival with a refreshing sports drink and a tasty energy snack. Perfect to recharge after their sporty start to the day. During lunch, they enjoyed a delicious and healthy meal. Together, we cycled 350 km this morning, making it 700 km round trip. That’s the distance from Bree to Austria, an amazing achievement! 
With this action, we saved about 47 liters of fuel, which equates to approximately 60 kg less CO2. This way, we also contribute to the environment. 
According to annual tradition, the Veldeman colleagues celebrated the beginning of the summer holidays during the summer barbecue. With beautiful weather, delicious food and drinks, a cozy atmosphere and good company, the evening was more than a success. The jubilarians were honoured for their work anniversaries. The ‘sporty’ colleagues competed against each other in a game of foosball, darts or stump. And the music lovers could play their favorite records on the jukebox.
On May 4, we organized our Veldeman Biking Day and challenged all colleagues to come to work by bicycle. With 31 participants and a shining sun it was a great success. 
The entire Veldeman team deserved a treat. That is why we organised a Happy Veldeman Day: a day filled with engaging presentations, pioneering activities and a stylish evening at a magnificent location. Wesley Sonck presented an inspirational session about coaching and team building, we were challenged to walk barefoot on fire and in a virtual world we could jump off a high-rise building. The day was brought to a close with a delicious meal with a light show. A superb day!
To get in the mood of the most wonderful time of the year, we organised the Veldeman Christmas Sweater Day on Thursday December 15. Our colleagues put on their favorite (or ugly :-)) Christmas sweater and created a fun working atmosphere. The most creative department was certainly our fabrics department, who didn’t just show up all in Christmas outfit but also made a beautiful Christmas tree with PVC fabrics.
On the hottest day of the year, with temperatures around 40 degrees, we provided the necessary refreshment by treating our colleagues in Bree to an ice cream. Thanks also to our customers who provided a welcome cooling for the colleagues on site.
Our Veldeman colleagues are proud to show what kind of work they do on a daily basis. Together we are one team that accepts any challenge and goes the extra mile every day to satisfy the most demanding customers.
After a long winter, the corona measures were finally lifted. The start of spring was therefore the ideal moment to bring all the Veldeman colleagues together again. We had a chance to catch up while enjoying delicious fries.
