Tent village Libelle Summer Week
Challenge
Publishing house Sanoma Media Magazines BV annually organises the Libelle Summer week, an outdoor fair on the beach of Almere (until 2019) which attracts 80,000 – mainly female – visitors per edition. A tent village has to accommodate the 400 exhibitors and various food and beverage stands. The weather conditions, with sometimes violent gusts of wind, and the location are a special challenge for the project. For example, the surface is sand and the village has to be built around various trees on the beach.
Solution
Since 2004 Veldeman has been building the impressive tent village for Libelle Summer week, with no less than 15,000 m² of aluminium halls and party tents, and 14,000 m² of walkways and squares. With 50 years of experience in tent construction, Veldeman has the necessary knowledge and know-how to successfully complete this extensive project with all of its challenges. Thanks to many years of cooperation, Veldeman has built up an excellent knowledge of the location which allows the company to think along with the organization. Good coordination and follow-up within the Veldeman team (installation team – project management – sales) ensure that the tight schedule is respected. So the entire village, with about 300 tents, is built in just 15 days. During the event Veldeman provides on-site staff, so any unforeseen problems can be solved in record time.
