Temporary infrastructure for De Grote Rappel 3

Challenge

In May 2025, the municipality of Leopoldsburg celebrated its 175th anniversary with the third edition of De Grote Rappel, a large-scale music and theatre production. This impressive event combined a 1.2-kilometre immersive walking trail with a full-length musical performance, bringing the region’s post-war history to life. With over 600 volunteers and 400 local actors, dancers, and musicians involved, the organisers needed a wide range of flexible, functional and visually appealing infrastructure, all seamlessly integrated into the natural surroundings of the Koninklijk Park.

Solution

Veldeman provided a full set of temporary structures to support this ambitious production:

  • TFS structure 50×60 metres: This large tent served as the main venue for 12 full-length performances. It housed a spacious stage, an impressive 4.5m x 18m projection screen and seating for up to 1,000 spectators per show. Essential to welcome the expected 15,000 visitors in total.

  • Aluminium halls of 25×45 and 10×25 metres: These two halls accommodated the on-site restaurant and bar, offering guests the opportunity to enjoy a full meal or drink before or after the performance.

  • Walkways: To support the 1.2-kilometre experience trail, we installed functional and aesthetic walkways, including timber boardwalks in harder-to-access areas. These ensured smooth, safe and accessible movement for all visitors.

Thanks to this tailored infrastructure, De Grote Rappel 3 became a truly unforgettable cultural event. We’re proud to have supported the organisation in bringing history to life, both on stage and behind the scenes.
