Conference hall SuperNova
Challenge
The first SuperNova technology festival took place in September 2018; an initiative of Flanders DC and Scale-Ups.eu, supported by the Flemish government. On the pretext of ‘Tomorrow is Unstoppable’, professionals and the general public could become acquainted with the latest technology and its impact on the future. A two-day conference was held that included top international speakers, a large pitching event where fifty scale-ups pitched their ideas to key venture capitalists, as well as a technology exhibition and an immersive experience expedition for the general public. For this top international event the organisation sought an appropriate conference hall, and additional areas for receptions, congresses, catering and logistics.
Solution
With its unique arched-shape, Veldeman’s TFS proved the perfect hall for this visionary festival. Thanks to its high interior space large visitor stands could be positioned inside. The black interior ensured optimum audio-visual effects. Veldeman also constructed an elevated arched hall for the reception and congress areas. This was finished off with functional white panels and inflatable fabrics for improved insulation and acoustics. 15 alu halls were used for the so-called ‘break-out’ areas: catering, backstage and transit. In total, Veldeman installed 7,500 m² tents for the event.
