2018 is drawing to a close, Christmas will soon be here and before you know it, we will be welcoming in the New Year. We have fond memories of all that has happened. It is the ideal time to have a look back over the year’s events. Here is a review of our most read blogs in 2018.
We started the year with some sound advice about the best way to expand your range of marquees. How do you approach the purchase of a new marquee and what aspects do you have to pay special attention to? Almost a year later, the same rules apply and the main thing is to have a very focused approach and of course let our experts guide you.
February really was a month of celebrations. On 4 February, the Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl in the United States. Did the fact that they had been training for sixteen years in a Veldeman hall have anything to do with their success? Definitely!
We were also awarded a prize for one of our own projects in February. The tennis centre at Ellesmere College in the United Kingdom won the SAPCA Award. This is awarded annually for an innovative sport project. We could not have wished for a better start of the year.
In March, we once more demonstrated that Veldeman is more than just about sales and renting of marquees. Using seven main points, we showed our total commitment to service and willingness to take on any challenge.
What do you do if you are refurbishing a shop, but want keep your business running? In April, we explained how we built a temporary shop for AD Delhaize that was totally tailored to their needs, taking into account all possible challenges.
By May, the sun was slowly showing its face again but we had no idea how hot the coming summer would be. Fortunately, we were well prepared and our three tips for cooling your marquee came in handy for the whole summer!
World Cup football. In June, you could not escape the World Cup. We decided to throw our hat into the ring for a world title and met five challenges on the international stage. Our team literally went beyond and above and could rightly call themselves proud World Champions.
In July, we had plenty of media attention when we built the largest festival marquee that had ever been constructed for Rock Werchter in Belgium. It was 60 metres wide, 115 metres long, 19 metres high and covered 6,900m². It was the perfect kick-off for a summer full of festivals.
Back to basics was the theme in August. We focused on the importance of good anchoring for your marquee or fabric structure. Because of course, safety is always our priority.
September marked the end of a splendid summer. We looked back with pleasure on a few of the fun festivals where you could have seen our marquees.
