How did we do it?
LTC Naaldwijk was looking for a solution to allow comfortable tennis playing all year round, regardless of the weather conditions. The cover for the tennis court could not have an industrial look and had to be usable both in summer and in winter, in order to ensure the return on investment.
Veldeman built a tennis facility for LTC Naaldwijk, a fabric structure of 36 m x 70 m, that meets the standards of permanent buildings. A new aluminium profile was developed which achieved a clear span of up to 40 m with a snow load of 70 kg/m². The roofing of the tennis hall consists of a translucent PVC membrane, which provides a natural, uniform light. This not only ensures optimum playing comfort, but also savings on the energy bill. The side walls can easily be rolled up, allowing players to feel as if they are playing in the open air in summer, while they are protected against cold, wind, snow and rain during winter. The tennis facility, which was built as an extension of the clubhouse, can be used throughout the year, guaranteeing the profitability of the investment.
