Temporary storage of waste IOK
Challenge
The Intercommunal Development Company for the Campines (IOK) was looking for a fast and efficient solution for temporary storage of household waste. It had to be possible to expand the temporary storage building in the future if necessary.
Solution
Veldeman built a steel structure of 27 m by 70 m with a sidewall of nearly 7.5 m. The hall was designed in accordance with the standards (Eurocode) for permanent structures and could be built in a short time. Thanks to the modular system the temporary storage building can easily be expanded. The translucent membrane ensures natural daylight and savings on energy costs.
