Steel industrial hall Dewulf
Challenge
Dewulf is a global player in the development and production of agricultural machines for the cultivation of potatoes and root crops. For its site in Roeselare, the company needed additional space to store parts and for the start-up of agricultural machines. The plan is to relocate this storage space at a later stage to the company’s site in Romania, where it will have to withstand higher snow loads.
Solution
Veldeman developed and erected a steel industrial hall measuring 38 m x 30 m, which meets the requirements in relation to the snow load. This was erected directly onto the existing asphalt surface, using special anchors. This negated the need for a concrete foundation. The hall was attached to an existing building. The roof and the side walls are made from white translucent PVC coated fabric. An unrestricted passageway was created in the front façade, measuring 10 m wide and 5 m high, for the large machines.
