How did we do it?
The Zangersheide domain formed the backdrop to the show jumping World Championships for young horses and Belgian championships for seniors. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the organisation was still on the look-out for new, temporary event accommodation just 3 months prior to kick-off. Not an easy task when you think that in this short turnaround time more than 15,000 m² tents was required. Sounds like just the sort of challenge Veldeman thrives on!
Thanks to our vast stock and meticulous planning of materials and resources, Veldeman succeeded in meeting this challenge. Not only did Veldeman supply 16,000 m² tents for the show jumping, but also 2,500 m² terrace flooring. An arena was constructed in a TFS measuring 40 m x 115 m, to auction foals, all surrounded by 700-seat stands. The same space also included a bar, restaurant and a few dozen stands for prestigious brands.
The opulently finished VIP tent comprised an elevated alu hall, built 50 cm off the ground to improve the visitors’ view. Room was provided for stands, catering, the secretariat, jury, riders and horse owners in two multi-story tents measuring 10 m x 40 m and 10 m x 60 m.
An elevated, transparent arched hall measuring 20 m x 15 m, with an alu hall on either side measuring 10 m x 45 m (each elevated by 50 cm), covered a stand village, central bar and visitor promenade. Furthermore, there were separate structures for the foals, a kitchen area and a few dozen pagodas with stands. As a whole, all these show jumping tents were impressive, to say the least! As such the project is a fantastic launchpad for further, future collaboration.
