How did we do it?
The Intercommunal Development Company for the Campines (IOK) was looking for a fast and efficient solution for temporary storage of household waste. It had to be possible to expand the temporary waste storage space in the future if necessary.
For the temporary waste storage space Veldeman built a steel structure of 27 m by 70 m with a sidewall of nearly 7.5 m. The hall was designed in accordance with the standards (Eurocode) for permanent structures and could be built in a short time. Thanks to the modular system the temporary waste storage space can easily be expanded. The translucent membrane ensures natural daylight and savings on energy costs.
