How did we do it?
Era Flying Service needed a permanent aircraft hangar, on the one hand to park an airplane in and, on the other hand, to use for storage. The structure of the aircraft hangar had to be able to withstand the extreme weather conditions of Barrow, Alaska.
Veldeman built a steel structure of 45 m by 25 m with a PVC membrane. This aircraft hangar was custom designed to meet basic wind speeds of over 195 km/h and ground snow loads of 250 kg/m². The aircraft hangar was equipped with doors and industrial gates.
