At the end of 2016 we put our entire company in motion by launching Energy@Veldeman, a sustainable exercise and health campaign. The collective challenge for our employees: jointly walk or run a total of 100,000 km by the end of September 2017. Almost halfway through the project, we are proud to announce we have successfully achieved this goal and have launched a new challenge.

CEO Andy Moors: “We would not be Veldeman if we would not push our boundaries and would not challenge our limits. That is why we will go for 200,000 km by November 2017!”

With Energy@Veldeman we want to ‘challenge’ our staff to take more exercise and opt for healthy lifestyles. Employees were given pedometers and an online platform was built where the number of steps collected can be seen, along with useful tips on health, nutrition and training. Besides our collective challenge, we regularly launch interim challenges, such us team battles where employees compete in teams to make the most steps. We also regularly participate in sporting events. Next Sunday, 10 Veldeman colleagues will take part in the Spartacus Run in Boom, one of the toughest obstacle runs in Europe.

Over the coming years we want to continue to focus on sports and health and this perfectly fits our tagline ‘challenge our limits’!
